My Calligraphy Journey
Creative Beginnings
As a highly creative person and a word-lover, I always wanted to do some kind of calligraphy.
One fateful day, I was scrolling through Instagram (as it seems this is the way for things to happen). I landed upon an advert to enroll on a calligraphy course — I signed up and completed it!
Building a Practice
After finishing the course, I wanted to keep up my calligraphy talent, and the rest is history. I set up my greeting card business in 2022, and for the last 3 years I’ve:
My Calligraphy Style
My style of calligraphy is currently Modern Calligraphy using brush pens (not fountain pen) - this is what I specialise in.
Why Calligraphy Matters
Calligraphy is a great tool to help express oneself. It’s meditative, and can even be recognised as a type of therapy!

*Pros*
- Easy to follow along
- Engaging
- Good vibes and good venue/setup

- The pens you used on the whiteboard were very squeaky, and it tickled my ears in an unpleasant way 😅
Overall, it was a nice way to spend the afternoon. Would do again 👍🏾

I had a really good time in the workshop. The task was fairly straightforward but still a bit of a challenge. The topic was good and inspiring and positive. The crowd was engaged and so there was a strong sense of engagement and it was all round a good event overall. I look forward to seeing the next one!

My wedding favours were stunning. Josephine wrote approximately 110 names of guests over a three week period. The names looked incredibly elegant and guests loved the personalisation, and so did I. I couldn't have asked for anything more, especially as the request was made at late notice.
