My name is Nana-Adwoa Mbeutcha, and it has been on my heart for a number of years to see more done to excite, inspire and educate Catholics at a local, regional and national level. I have been privileged to work, in a voluntary capacity, within Catholic events for the past 20 years - From helping to organise small parish events, to leading youth streams at conferences such as New Dawn, to sitting on the core team to organise huge national events like CYMFed’s Flame at Wembley Arena.
During the planning process, myself and the teams I have worked with, have often found it challenging to find a variety of Catholic talent from the UK, even though we are sure that they must exist…somewhere. Given that the Catholic Church is united and universal, why isn’t there a central place, in this case for the UK, to find talented people who are ready to minister?
So with this in mind, and a real desire to help Parish Priests, Headteachers, Youth Leaders, Diocesan workers, Christian media etc, I decided to go about bringing a wide variety of Catholic talent together, all in one place…A hub of Catholic creativity and possibilities, here.
“I am delighted to support the new initiative of the Catholic Talent Network. As a bishop I come across many Catholic movements and associations or enterprising Catholic parishes and schools who want to build up the faith through special events, whether at home, in studios or in festivals. Often they have good ideas, energy and mission but wonder how to find speakers or other talented Catholic performers to lead their keynotes, sessions and breakouts in harmony with the spirit and message of their event. At the same time, I know of just as many budding Catholic speakers, singers and other performers who are looking for some way to make their services more widely known and perhaps to find a little help to hone their presentations. Just one look at the Catholic Talent Network testifies to a thrilling array of talent out there, ready to invigorate any gathering. Whether local or national, Catholic Talent’s resource of creative and ministerial Catholic gifts is bringing organisers and talent together and filling a gap in the building up of the Church across the UK.”
